Help common car problems

The following is a list of common car problems

Engine problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

Black smoke coming from exhaust, on acceleration
White smoke coming from exhaust, on acceleration
Blue smoke coming from exhaust while driving
Engine power is fine on flat road but weak on the hills
Engine stalls on acceleration
Engine makes pinging sound on uphill roads
Engine starts to sound rough on high speed
Engine runs on for a few seconds after it is shut off
Engine backfires through tailpipe, on acceleration
Ticking noise coming from the engine while running
High pitched squeal coming from the engine while running
Vehicle starts but white smoke comes from exhaust initially
Vehicle starts but blue smoke comes from exhaust
Vehicle not starting grinding sound when trying to start
Oil warning light occasionally flickers while driving
Oil warning light came on steady while driving
Temperature gauge reads hot only in prolonged, slow traffic
Temperature gauge reads hot only in hot weather, at any speed
Temperature gauge always reads hot shortly after starting engine
Radiator water boils over, when engine is hot

Engine Performance problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

Engine runs normal but gas mileage is less than expected
Engine lacks power on flat road and hills
Rotten egg smell coming from my vehicle while driving
When idling, the vehicle shakes
Engine runs somewhat rough when idling
While accelerating, the vehicle hesitates or jerks
Engine makes pinging sound on acceleration
Engine stalls while idling
Engine stalls while driving
Vehicle starts but black smoke comes from exhaust initially
Vehicle starts but engine backfires initially
Vehicle starts but will not stay running

Starting System problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

Vehicle starts but engine sputters while trying to start
Vehicle not starting, no sound at all
Vehicle not starting, spinning sound when trying to start
Vehicle not starting, engine turns over quickly
Vehicle not starting, engine backfires while trying to start
Vehicle not starting, engine sputters while trying to start
Vehicle not starting, only when engine is very cold
Vehicle not starting, only when engine is very hot

Battery problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

Vehicle not starting engine turns over slowly
Vehicle starts but engine turns over slowly before it starts
Vehicle not starting clicking sound when trying to start
Battery warning light occasionally flickers while driving
Battery warning light came on steady while driving

battery recharge / battery replace / charging system test / alternator repair.

Brake and ABS anti-lock brakes problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

Brake pedal goes down much further than it used to
Brake pedal sinks to floor when brakes are lightly applied
Brake pedal vibrates while applying brakes
Steering wheel vibrates while applying brakes
Entire vehicle vibrates while applying brakes
Brakes make a squealing noise
Brakes make a grinding noise
Rattling sound coming from brakes
When I am braking, the brake pedal feels spongy
The vehicle pulls to one side when I step on the brakes
After releasing brake pedal, one brake is still partly on
After releasing brake pedal, all brakes are still partly on
When I apply the brakes, I hear a clunk noise
I must step very hard on the brake pedal to stop the vehicle
One wheel locks up, when brakes are applied
Brakes warning light briefly flickered while driving

Manual Transmission and Clutch problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

Grinding noise only when shifting into one particular gear
Grinding noise when shifting into reverse gear
Grinding noise when shifting into all gears
Noise only while moving in one particular gear
Noise while moving in two or more gears
Pops out of first gear while driving
Pops out of second gear while driving
Pops out of third or higher gear while driving
Pops out of reverse while backing up
When releasing clutch pedal, engine poor response
While driving, clutch pedal vibrates as it's depressed
Growling or grating noise when clutch pedal is fully depressed
Squealing or howling noise as clutch pedal is being released
From a stop, vehicle shakes as clutch pedal is released
From a stop, I can't shift into first gear/no grinding

Automatic Transmission problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

From a stop, sluggish initial forward movement
From a stop, delayed initial forward movement
From a stop, up shifts through gears occur too early
From a stop, up shifts through gears occur too late
From a stop, up shifts through gears occur timely but are rough
From a stop, up shifts through gears are erratic
During at least one up shift, engine races before gear engages
When I shift into gear from Parking position a clunk noice
While driving, I hear a clunk when I release the accelerator
After shifting to reverse, there's a delay before vehicle backs up
One particular gear doesn't seem to work
None of the gears work at all, there is no response
Vehicle doesn't hold when gear selector is in Parking position
When I floor it, the passing gear doesn't kick in
Whining or growling noise coming from transmission while driving

Suspension problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

At a certain speed, the front end vibrates
At a certain speed, the rear end vibrates
At a certain speed, the entire vehicle vibrates
Front end dives when applying brakes
Loud thump from front end when driving quickly over a dip
Loud thump from rear end when driving quickly over a dip
Overall, the vehicle's ride is very bouncy or mushy
Overall, the vehicle's ride is hard it feels every bumps
Abnormal tire wear, wearing mainly on inside edge of tire
Abnormal tire wear, wearing mainly on outside edge of tire
Abnormal tire wear, wearing on both edges of tire/not in middle
Abnormal tire wear, wearing mainly in middle of tire
Abnormal tire wear, wearing on various spots of tire

suspension front/rear repair / main shaft balance / drive shaft repair / differential repair / wheels alignment.

Steering problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

Steering feels loose and sloppy, especially at higher speeds
During turns, there's a clicking noise coming from the front end
Tires screech when vehicle is turning a corner at normal speed
While driving, the vehicle pulls slightly to the left or right
While driving, the vehicle pulls heavily to the left or right
When engine is cold, steering is stiff all or mainly in one direction
Sometimes while driving, steering becomes stiff for a moment
Over time, steering has gradually become stiffer, harder
There is looseness in the steering wheel or steering column
At a certain speed, the steering wheel vibrates
While coming out of a turn, steering wheel doesn't easily return

Heating System problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

Heater blows air that isn't warm even though engine is hot
Vents barely blows out air even fan is at highest seed setting
Vents doesn't blow air out at all, at any fan setting

Air Condition AC problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

Air Condition is not blowing cold air anymore, reduction over time
Air Condition suddenly stop blowing cold air
Air Condition blows mostly cold air, but sometimes it blows warm air
Air Condition blows air that has a mildew odour

Auto Body problems - If vehicle demonstrate malfunction as:

Auto Body collision damage
Need Body repair estimate
Rust on the body, need paint job
Body Scrunches or dents repair
Water likes in to the vehicle
